About Trust for Africa
Our mission is to equip families and communities in Lesotho to help vulnerable children feel safe, seen, and supported. Trust for Africa USA (formerly Faith Foundation of Central Florida) partners with Trust for Africa in Lesotho to provide services that focus on child protection and development, family strengthening, and community engagement. Though AIDS devastated a generation and many of Lesotho’s children have been wounded by fractured families, trauma, and loss, we believe there’s hope. Through intervention and prevention, we seek to protect and nurture the heart of each child by strengthening families and communities. Our approach is 3-fold: 1) Child-centric intervention and trauma-informed care to help children heal in loving homes. 2) Family-focused skills training and counseling to revive hearts and homes. 3) Community-driven solutions to support families and safeguard children so they can flourish. Our programs are: 1) An Emergency Shelter for children in crisis who have been removed from unsafe situations by government services. We work with the children and their families or networks toward a safe long-term family solution. 2) Trauma-Informed Care Training that provides paradigm-shifting training for parents, community members, professionals, and government offices on how to understand and care for children who have experienced trauma and loss. 3) A Family Strengthening Program empowers family preservation and reunification. This program provides emergency support, counseling, and training to families. 4) An After-School program that provides academic support, meals, and personal development for at-risk children in our community. We take a two-way approach and also engage students’ families in our family strengthening program. 5) Our Family-Based Care Support program helps Lesotho orphanages interested in transitioning to permanent, safe family solutions.
What “Trusted” Means

This ministry has been verified against eleven of fifteen criteria in The Most Trusted Standard — demonstrating doctrinal clarity, biblical stewardship, independent financial review, faithful handling of donor intent, independent board governance, conflict-of-interest protections, truthful communications, and active mission-aligned programs.
Trusted represents the foundation on which our higher designations are built. Highly Trusted and Most Trusted ministries demonstrate additional levels of public transparency and independent evaluation that go beyond this baseline.
