The Transformation Project

About The Transformation Project

The Transformation Project is a recovery and reentry ministry that works to proclaim liberty to the captives, offering FREEDOM, HOPE, and TRANSFORMATION through Christian discipleship. The Transformation Project is a Maine 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization offering support and discipleship to men in recovery and/or transitioning out of corrections. We are a faith-based community initiative emphasizing the key role that faith has in substance abuse intervention, treatment, and recovery, especially among those transitioning out of corrections and back into our communities. To best serve our community, we need to understand how to break the cycle of addiction that leads to crime and recidivism. We have developed faith-based holistic programming designed to address and strengthen men’s physical, mental, and spiritual health and wellbeing. We begin with the fundamentals necessary for a healthy life – each person’s mental, physical, emotional, and spiritual health; their home, their purpose, and their community. We welcome and support men into our program through our initial 40-day program that combines the 12 steps of recovery with the disciplines of Christian faith to build strong character needed to overcome the core challenges of addiction and crime recidivism. We create safe and supportive Christian structured transitional housing through our yearlong residential program to encourage men to mature in faith, evolve with integrity, maintain sobriety, and focus on emotional, mental, and physical health. We build community by offering community nights, recovery group meetings, peer group meetings, and Bible studies to encourage involvement, transformational discipleship, and healthy relationships.
