The Raleigh Rescue Mission
About The Raleigh Rescue Mission
The Raleigh Rescue Mission, a nonprofit organization, was chartered by the State of North Carolina in September of 1960 [501(c)(3)]. As founded, the Mission is "dedicated exclusively to religious and charitable works: to establish a medium through which the efforts of professional and lay people may be coordinated and integrated to give aid and assistance to the poor and unfortunate by furnishing them with food, shelter, companionship, clothing, counseling and other services." The Mission's religious affiliations are "interdenominational," and in this respect the Mission is acknowledged as "the downtown arm of the church."
