About Promise686
Over 400,000 children in the U.S. foster care system (with over 13,000 in Georgia) and 150 million orphans globally are in constant need of a family. There simply are not enough families coming forward and 50% of those who become foster parents quit after one placement. Our mission is to equip churches and families in meeting the needs of orphans and foster children. Churches have the families and the volunteers to sustain the families through the transition. We provide financial assistance, ministry development, community support, and education to church communities all in an effort to fulfill the promise that “God sets the lonely into families” (Psalm 68:6). Our simple vision is “a family for every child”. If every church raises up and supports at least one foster family, there will then be more than enough families prepared to meet the ongoing need.
What “Trusted” Means
Trusted ministries meet our complete baseline framework for faithful Christian operation. This ministry has been verified against eleven of fifteen criteria in The Most Trusted Standard — demonstrating doctrinal clarity, biblical stewardship, independent financial review, faithful handling of donor intent, independent board governance, conflict-of-interest protections, truthful communications, and active mission-aligned programs.
Trusted represents the foundation on which our higher designations are built. Highly Trusted and Most Trusted ministries demonstrate additional levels of public transparency and independent evaluation that go beyond this baseline.
