My Sister's Place of Gainesville
About My Sister's Place of Gainesville
When the doors to the My Sister’s Place shelter first opened in 2000, our founder Marty Owens had two goals: provide a haven for a fresh start for women and children who are experiencing homelessness, and shower all who entered with God’s love. Our program may have grown, but our focus hasn’t changed. My Sister’s Place provides a nurturing home, nutritious meals, transportation assistance, and other basic necessities to the single women and mothers with children whom we serve. We are purposed to be used by God to restore the relationship between Him and our individual shelter residents as many have lost their hope in Him and His unfailing love during their homeless state. While they are with us, we provide the tools and resources to help them to be in a better position spiritually, physically, and emotionally when they leave than when they arrived.
