About Center for the Study of New Testament Manuscripts
Center for the Study of New Testament Manuscripts (CSNTM) pursues the great and noble task of preserving the New Testament text and manuscripts, and tracing its history through the ages. How we accomplish our mission:Resourcing CSNTM uses emerging technologies to provide scholars advanced tools and superior data to study ancient witnesses to the New Testament text. This includes the publication of high-resolution and multispectral images of manuscripts and other important Christian writings in a searchable website at manuscripts.csntm.org.As a result, scholars are able to publish a highly accurate reconstruction of the original Greek documents that comprise the 27 books of the New Testament, and with such transparency and accountability that skeptics have no basis for argument.Educating CSNTM trains new generations of scholars through its rigorous internship, generous scholarships, and supervision of PhD dissertations. Over the past 21 years, dozens of CSNTM-trained New Testament scholars now occupy leadership positions in institutions around the world, and the number continues to grow!CSNTM also offers education and training to help non-scholars learn and appreciate the amazing story of the New Testament. The Biblion program offers a selection of lecture series, conferences, online publications, videos, and social media content.Collaborating CSNTM collaborates with like-minded institutions and scholars through strategic partnerships and participates in current research by publishing papers and presenting at scholarly conferences. The Center also hosts its own gathering of international scholars at the biennial CSNTM Text & Manuscript Conference.
